Dinner @ Red Chilli
Woke up really early this morning to go to the Sunday market. Today was quite a packed day for me. The sunday market sells both first and second hand stuff, at rather cheap rates. Comparable to something like a pasar malam, UK style. Today's just another cold day. I'm like totally freezing. The sun never came out today though. Even walking through the open market was torture enough because we're exposed to the wind.
Today's supposed to be Chinese New Year. Doesn't feel like Chinese New Year over here in Leeds, but managed to catch a few glimpses of my relatives in Singapore via skype. Anyway since today is the first day of CNY, decided to spend some money. Spent some pounds on a new bedsheet and quilt cover, got a second hand table lamp, some new socks, some cards and that's about it. cost me over 20 pounds. Plus taxi ride and some toilet paper.. went to about 40 pounds. Saw some overhead seagulls.. Don't know where they came from.. Hid for fear of aerial bombarment.

Had lunch at Mingding's place. The rest went to buy groceries in the morning at the Chinese Market. They got their pork ribs, some veg, dumplings, siew mai. In the end, we ended up only eating the bak kut teh courtesy of Elaine and Jiayi because it was so much.. They added tau pok, mushroom, beancurd which was more than enough to fill our stomachs. Oh we also made tang yuan..

We left for City Life church at about 3.45pm. Service was supposed to start at 4pm.. Mingding's place happens to be on one end of the city while City Life Church is at the other end. Considered taking a cab, but then we passed by this bus stop and just so happen a bus came, so we thought why not ask the bus driver if the bus goes to the place where City Life Church is located. The bus took us there. City Life Church is supposed to be located within this hotel called Metropolitan Hotel. When we went in, we were told by the counter staff that City Life Church has moved and they don't know where they have moved to. Great.
So the 3 of us, me Elaine Belinda just walked around cos we're meeting the rest at Red Chilli later for dinner. It's too far to walk back to Mingding's place, and it's too early to go to Red Chilli. In our desperation, we started going into hotels and asked them if they held any church service that day. After a while, we gave up and settled in places like MacDonalds just to warm up.

Reached Red Chilli about 6.30pm and met up with Julian and the rest for dinner. Had Chinese dishes like Peking Duck, bak choi, mala beancurd, lemon chicken, sweet and sour fish. Cost us 9 pounds each.. Quite expensive I feel.. Don't think I'll be eating there anytime soon.

Funny (and stupid) shot by Elaine and Belinda:

The girls kept bio-ing this waiter whom they claimed is super cute.. but I don't think so.. he's like quite normal to me leh. And they tried to take secret photos of him.. Not really successful though.. because he was moving around most of the time.. very hard to get a good still shot..

Walked Qiuchan and Belinda back home. Qiuchan was easy cos her place is just 5 min away from my place and it was on the way home. Belinda was a little tougher. Me Mingding and her kinda lost our way. Had to resort to stopping a taxi driver and ask him for directions. Quite embarassing. Her place is quite ulu kind and downslope all the way from the university. Imagine going to school everyday man.. Good workout.
